AMC Auxiliary Receives Auxiliary of the Year for the Third Time!

The Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries has awarded the 2012 "Auxiliary of the Year" to Audrain Medical Center.  The award was presented Thursday, Nov. 8, at a luncheon during the Missouri Hospital Association’s 90th Annual Convention & Trade Show in Osage Beach, Mo.

The Audrain Medical Center Auxiliary in Mexico, Mo., was recognized for its volunteer activities as an auxiliary with 61-150 members. The hospital’s 139 auxilians contributed 17,959 hours of volunteer service from June 2011 through May 2012. Volunteers participate in various in-service activities throughout the hospital and support various efforts, including the hospital’s Lifeline program and health education in the community.

During the nomination period, the auxiliary awarded 10 $500 scholarships to students seeking careers in health care. The auxiliary provided partial or full funding for several hospital projects, including a $141,000 renovation of the main hospital hallway, a $31,000 renovation of the obstetric department and $2,800 for a new women’s health service room.
