Audrain Medical Center’s Pharmacy Receives Awards

Memphis, TN – Audrain Medical Center’s Pharmacy recently receives top honors from Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) during a senior management conference held in conjunction with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Mid-Year trade show in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Audrain Medical Center’s Pharmacists and staff provide pharmacy services for all patients that choose AMC for their healthcare needs. Some of the services performed include screening for medication allergies, interactions, and disease states. They provide drug information to patients and staff, and ensure proper medication dosing.

The Site of the Year for 2011 award for the South Central Region (which covers the states of Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama) was presented to Audrain Medical Center. The award is presented to the site with an Operations Audit score of at least 85%, outstanding financial performance by meeting or exceeding budget, superior scores on The Joint Commission survey as well as clinical success and maintaining good relationships with hospital administration.

In addition, the Best Practices Award for 2011 for the South Central Region was presented to Ken Mullins, Director of Pharmacy, on behalf of AudrainMedicalCenter. The award is presented to the site with a score of 95% or better on CPS’ annual Operational Audit. The CPS OPS Audit covers over 200 items in the operation of the pharmacy. These items are financial, safety, clinical, and operational in origin.
