AMC Ranked Nationally for Patient Safety

Left to Right: Diane Jacobi, MD, Chief of Medicine; Michael Quinlan, MD, Chief of Medical Staff; Kari Wilson, FNP, Chief Nursing Officer; Peter Perll, MD, Chief of Surgery and Roanetta Rodgers, Quality Management with the Top 100 Hospital Patient Safety Award. Audrain Medical Center has been recognized in CareChex® 2011 for outstanding performance in Patient Safety for Overall Hospital Care. AMC ranked among the top 2% of all hospitals in the nation in this category at 98.7%.

CareChex is a hospital quality rating service of The Delta Group – a national healthcare information services company that provides clinical, financial and patient satisfaction findings to consumers, providers and purchasers of U.S. medical care. Unlike other publicly available hospital quality ratings, CareChex provides a comprehensive evaluation of all components of medical quality including process of care, outcomes of care and patient satisfaction.

“The Patient Safety Award from the Delta Group confirms that our efforts to continuously improve patient care at AMC are working. Given there are more than 4,000 acute care hospitals in the United States to be counted among the 100 best for patient safety is an achievement we are quite proud of. Thanks to all of our clinicians, support staff, and volunteers for their dedication and commitment to our mission in this community,” states Dave Neuendorf, AMC President/CEO.

Dr. Thane Forthman, managing principal at The Delta Group commented, “CareChex allows the public to make informed decisions regarding the quality of medical care provided by hospitals. We are pleased to acknowledge that Audrain Medical Center's patient safety ranks in the top 2% of hospitals in the nation for Overall Medical Care. Audrain Medical Center is clearly an outstanding hospital that others should seek to emulate.”
