Rodes Scholarship Presentation

The Audrain Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce Jenea Smith has been awarded the 2009 Ned D. Rodes Educational Scholarship.

Jenea has worked at Audrain Medical Center since 2006 as a Physical Therapist. Earlier this year after a two week, one hundred-thirty five hour course, Jenea became certified in Lymphedema management. Her passion for working with Lymphedema patients is what inspired her to apply for the Rodes Scholarship in order to become a nationally certified LANA (Lymphology Association of North America) therapist. “I look forward to becoming an expert in the field of Lymphedema and providing our community and patients at AMC’s Rehabilitation Department with the best possible care for their Lymphedema treatment,” stated Jenea.

The Ned D. Rodes Scholarship was available to any student or allied health professional seeking further clinical education and currently enrolled in an accredited university, college or nursing program. This annual AMC Foundation scholarship was also available to anyone seeking a clinical certification or registry. Jenea received $2,500 to continue her education.

“It gives us great pleasure to present the scholarship money to Mrs. Smith,” commented Ryland Rodes. “She has demonstrated a commitment to patient care and her community with her work and continued education. We wish her the best during her continued education.”
