NeuroCom Balance Manager Offers New Service

Proceeds from the 2009 AMC Foundation Golf Classic were used this year to purchase a NeuroCom Balance Manager for the Rehabilitation Department at AMC. People with balance and dizziness problems have difficulty with even the simplest of tasks. One’s ability to maintain balance is a complex process and with the Balance Manager, it provides accurate patient assessment of balance problems in a variety of populations ranging from the elderly to athletes. “With this data, we can design a treatment program based on the patient’s limitations. This can result in decreased falls in the elderly and improve function in athletes,” stated Cindi Heese, Director of Rehabilitation.
