Thomas Achieves Board Recertification
Audrain Medical Center is pleased to announce that Gene Thomas, DO has successfully completed recertification from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in the area of Critical Care Medicine. The examination is designed to evaluate the extent of the candidate’s knowledge and clinical judgment in the areas in which a critical care physician should demonstrate a high level of competence. Expertise in the broad domain of critical care medicine, and the diagnosis and treatment of both common and rare conditions that have important consequences for patients, are assessed.

Audrain Medical Center Begins New Partnership with SSM
On Wednesday, Audrain Medical Center and SSM Health Care marked the beginning of their new future together. Under the agreement, which went into affect, April 1, SSM owns and operates the medical center and its nine MedChoice rural clinics.
Dave Neuendorf, president of AMC, greeted a large crowd in attendance at the celebration and told them "This is a historic day and we are grateful you are here."
Bill Thompson, president/CEO, SSM Health Care told those attending that the outstanding turnout showed how much the community appreciated its hospital.
SSM Health Care to Own and Operate Audrain Medical Center As Part of New Mid-Missouri Region
SSM Health Care and Audrain Medical Center, Mexico, MO, signed an agreement last Thursday under which SSM will own and operate the medical center and its nine MedChoice rural clinics effective April 1, 2013. In making the announcement, SSM also said that it would form a Mid- Missouri Region because of the proximity of the medical center and its clinics to SSM’s St. Mary’s Health Center, Jefferson City. Committee members met recently to make plans for the Annual AMC Foundation Heart-to-Heart Luncheon which will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Steinman’s Banquet Hall in Mexico, MO which is a new location this year.

Audrain Medical Center Announces New Year’s Baby for 2013
Finnegan Michael McHatton was born on January 1, 2013 at 4:26 p.m. He is the son of Ryan and Heather McHatton of Mexico. Finnegan Michael weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20 inches. He joins a brother, Lucas David, age 5. His birth makes him the first baby born at Audrain Medical Center in 2013. Read More
